Map Data & Licences

The Case Management location system uses self-hosted open-source mapping components. Case coordinates and Council operational data remain governed by the Council's own access, retention and source-approval controls.

Basemap data

Protomaps basemap tiles are derived from OpenStreetMap and are used as a visual reference. Visible map attribution: © OpenStreetMap contributors.

  • PMTiles JS 4.5.0 — BSD 3-Clause reference implementation; PMTiles specification is public-domain/CC0 where applicable.

Council GIS datasets

Ward, zone, gazetteer and municipal GIS datasets may have their own reuse or redistribution conditions. A dataset is not approved for production publication until its source, licence, CRS/transformation, permission evidence and reuse/redistribution status are recorded in the GIS Source Registry.

“Official” does not automatically mean “free to redistribute”. Public exports must exclude Council Gazetteer records marked as not redistributable.

Location accuracy

Browser/device coordinates may come from GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular or other platform positioning. They are not presented as survey-grade proof. The operational case location is the user/officer-confirmed WGS84 latitude and longitude.
